It's Pick of the Week time: each week I pick one great buy from Target's Weekly ad (in the Sunday newspaper) and highlight it here on my blog. This week I'm featuring one of my favorite lines, Assets by Sara Blakely (the budget line from Spanx). Spanx was created by Sara Blakely, a former standup comedienne who decided to try to modify her pantyhose (by cutting the feet off) to give a smooth line under her white slacks while on stage one night. The trick worked, and soon the Spanx business was born. Then Spanx spawned Assets, which is the budget-friendly version of shapers, available exclusively at Target.
I've blogged about Assets before (as I'm a big fan of their Fabulous Footless and Perfect Pantyhose) and now it looks like they've expanded the line to include the Seamless Cami and Fantastic Firmer Tank ($20-26, both shown above) as well as a whole slew of other shaper products (listed below). Slimming inner fabric provides control where you need it, while the outer fabric keeps everything invisibly smooth under clothing. Assets provide that added little "help" we all need to keep looking good in our clothes.
