Jason Wu whizzes out of stores

Well, dear readers, I'm afraid we have another Missoni debacle on our hands. After my first post this morning, I raced to the Mountain View, CA Target store, where I counted approx. 50 people already in line at 10 minutes to 8. Not wanting to bet those odds (as I'm sure those in line would pick clean whatever Wu was in stock) I quickly made it over to the Sunnyvale store... only to find that at 8:02am, all the Wu was gone :-(

I commiserated with several frustrated shoppers who came in after me about how Target had again let them down. One woman said she had tried to order online in the wee hours, only to have items "disappear" from her cart, much like what happened to many online shoppers with Missoni. Another shopper - who was lucky enough to nab herself the striped t-shirt dress - said she got there right as they opened the store, but found very little Wu on the racks in the firstplace. A Target clerk confirmed to me that their store had received VERY little stock, so she wasn't surprised that what they had was gone in two minutes.

After "stalking" some shoppers coming out of the dressing room, I was able to grab the gray lace t-shirt and this lovely scarf when someone returned it to the rack. I have to say that from the picture online, I would have passed on this scarf, but in person it's much more beautiful and intricate. I briefly considered trying a third Target store, but then realized it would be fruitless, and headed home instead.

Some of you have already written in to report similar incidents at your own Target stores: very limited stock, and greedy shoppers (probably eBay vultures) nabbing most of what was on the racks. A quick check online shows over 5,800 eBay listings under "Jason Wu Target" already, which is just plain disgusting. Target should really limit the amount of designer items one can buy at checkout. They've done this in the past on "bulk items" (like cases of Coke) so why not for other items as well?

I am thankful that I was able to place my early morning online order without any hiccups, otherwise I would be even more upset over my lack of luck in store. It looks as if most items are now soldout online. How about the rest of you out there? Did you score any Wu, or were you left emptyhanded?

The store I went to had a small collection. Most of the dresses I wanted weren't even there. I was pretty disappointed but at least I got the clutch I wanted. I would have shopped online but because I was afraid I wouldn't wake up early to hit the stores, I went to bed. I should've just stayed up and ordered online.

I had trouble online ordering one of the sweaters. I would put it my basket and it showed up but then when I went to pay it showed I had an empty basket. I went to two Target stores and got the same navy scarf which is really lovely but I would have liked a few more pieces. Both the Target stores in Austin only had a few pieces of the whole collection.

Just came back from the redwood city store (got there at 10)
Quite a bit of stock but everything is large or extra large
The t shirt with the kitty is adorable but in Xl could almost wear it as a dress! I was disappointed in some of the fabrics
Polyester blouses just looked like something my grandmother would have worn
Maby they Just didn't translate to large sizes well?
All in all I wasn't too bummed they didn't have my size
Tho I wish target could find a system to keep stock and sizes on the floor longer (and off eBay)

Kayerickson, I'm sorry to hear that as I purposely AVOIDED the Redwood City store due to the sellout they had in minutes with Missoni :-(

And I'm worried about the sizing now, too. The t-shirt I bought this morning was a small, and I was surprised it fit. Unlike past designer collabs, the Jason Wu line seems to fit generously. I'm afraid that the items I ordered online will end up being too large.

I picked up the dot-print shirt dress in stores and the lighter blue scarf. I really wanted the kitty scarf and the shirt, but they were sold out when I got to Target. I LOVED the black dress, but it wasn't available long online (and now I see they're all for sale on e-bay...not exactly nice of people...or fair). I hope your black dress fits...it's gorgeous! :)

I was there when the doors opened in Houston and was able to get the items I had on my list except the ones that were not shipped to that store. I did find the tops sized a little large and got an xs when I usually wear a small. The navy dress ran small in the top for me so I sized up and really love it! My daughter and I decided to try a more rural target 10 min away later and they looked like no one had been there to buy anything! Everything was still in stock and untouched. The products were the same as my other target though so I didn't buy anything there. We had sooooo much fun shopping!!!!!

I went to a popular Atlanta store and ALL accessories were gone. There were some clothes in sizes m, l, and xl but not my size. Most of the skirts and dresses were completely gone.

I am supremely disappointed in Target today. I stopped at the same store that had tons of Missoni stuff and guess what no Jason Wu items. So I zoomed to the other store in town. Once again no Jason Wu items the closet store carrying it is now 35 miles away! It doesn't indicate this on their website it just states the items are out of stock. And why only some items in the store and not online. I really wanted the cat scarf-the one only item after losing three cats to illness's last year. I'm emailing target to voice my digust.

I was at the Knoxville Tn store at noon today and no one was even looking at the Wu stuff. I'd guess we are over the designer push here if this is the way it is going.

I went to my store this morning at nine. There was quite a bit left but some of the pieces I had my eye on were not there. Wanted a scarf but they were all gone. Also wanted the stripe sweater and I never saw any. Did anyone see these in store? Loved the look of the gold textured peplum top but only large sizes were left. Been trying to order online from phone all day with no luck . I did get the blush tee with black bow and best of all I got the red & navy jersey dress. It is super cute on.

I'll just do what I did with Missoni - wait until the returns hit the store or show up at Goodwill. ;)

I was able to score 2 kitty t-shirts(S & M to see which one fits better) & kitty scarf, but kitty tote was all gone at 9am. There were quite bit of clothes still left, but I wasn't interested in. Then I went to another Target about 30min. away, and it was even worse. All accessories were gone. Clothes were almost all gone.
The first Target store lady said they got very small about of accessories.
Kitty tote... someday...?

I was at the Warwick, RI store at 8:30am this morning. Being most people in RI are not fashion-nuts, it wasn't crowded at all and there were still a few XS sizes left. Even so, I overheard a few ladies complain about a MALE EBAY vulture buy a huge stock of items, including the navy floral skirt and top I had wanted! I was also upset that my Target had a VERY limited stock, and NO accessories at all. Still after reading everybody else's stories, I consider myself lucky that I left with the black pleated skirt, the pink dot print shirt, and the cream dot print shirt dress.

I went in on the way to manning a Girl Scout cookie booth. It was about 9:00 and the store had good stock but only of a few of the items. I wanted the flower satchel but it had already sold out. I tried some stuff on in the fitting room and noticed on the way out a big pile of clothes others had tried on an rejected.

Our local Target in Illinois had NO Jason Wu items at all!! Staff stated their store was unable to carry the collection and the nearest stores were about 70 miles away that may be be carrying Jason Wu! Are you kidding me!! Online, only a few items were available, nothing I wanted (purse & T-shirt only.) Ebay already with over 8,000listings!! This is riduculous. I live 50 miles from Chicago so am not exactly in the boondocks!!!

When the Missoni went on sale online, I managed to purchase 4 pieces. With the discount, I wound up paying 20 dollars per piece. I will wait it out the with JW line. Maybe I will get lucky again.

Hi, everyone!

If you live near the Pasadena store on Lake Avenue, I am heading there right now (5pm PST) to return the yellow "gathered" top and the light blue cardigan. They're super cute, but don't work well if you're short-waisted like me. So, if you've got a nice long waist and wear a medium (or have a short waist and are nearly anorexic), head on over to pick them up (assuming the employees don't take them). I should be there about 5:30 pm.

I actually went to 3 stores in the LA area and I have to say I was lucky to get a few tops and dresses. I was able to order 2 scarves & he navy coat. I really wanted the cat tote & scarf but was unable to get it online or in stores.

I was able to get four pieces- the mesh flower top, the short-sleeved pink polka dot tie blouse, the blue flower scarf and the blue flower handbag (which is what I really wanted). The bag is darker in person than the pictures posted online, but it still looks cute and I'm happy. Yes the sizes run large: I'm usually a medium, and I got a small in the two tops I got.
My store was not packed at all, but the selection was limited. The store didn't carry the trench coat, which was the other item I really wanted.
Still a happy camper though!!

I didn't go at opening (to avoid any potential chaos), so racks were pretty picked over when I got there around noon. Still, I was able to try on a decent assortment of things. Online, I ordered the cat tee and cat scarf. In store, I got the belted navy floral chiffon dress and another cat tee in case there was an issue with my order. The scarf was my #1 item, so I'm basically thrilled. I'm really surprised by the sizing, though. I was swimming in most of the XS things.

Our store has NOTHING but two shirts.

The Aliso Viejo store in California has some stuff as of 2/9. I had returned a few things there and checked the racks.

I hope others can have the opportunity to purchase my returns ;)
