My non-review for Rodarte for Target

Hello, dear readers! You might be wondering why I haven’t officially reviewed the Rodarte for Target line, which debuted in stores 4 days ago. Well, frankly, I find the line so underwhelming that I’m not even going to bother writing about it extensively. If you’d like a detailed review, please read The Recessionista’s post from Sunday. I, meanwhile, will be saving my money in excited anticipation for the upcoming Zac Posen line.

Good for you. I was excited for this Rodarte line, based on the photos in places like Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. Yet when I went online Sunday morning I couldn't find many of the nicer pieces. The pieces shown were sort of trashy and cheap looking. They were also listed in the Juniors section, which meant the sizes ran very small. I know teens are a big customer group for Target, but the store built it's fashion reputation on fusion fashion lines for ADULT women who love clothes (think work clothes, weekend clothes, night out clothes). The special lines the last 2 years have all been geared towards 14-year-olds. Very disappointing.

I saw some pieces in store Monday and was disappointed. To me, they looked flimsy and very chintzy. Too much tulle and lace to be practial, in my opinion. A touch here and there is fine, but this was over the top. Just my two cents, though.

As soon as I'd seen Tavi wearing that leopard dress, I thought there is no way that will be cut to fit me.

Then in Tavi's video the two designers are beautfiul curvy women and they are not even wearing their own clothes. So many times we see designers in jeans & t shirt, or jeans and sweatshirt and not even wearing what they design. hmmm gets one thinking....

That's exactly who this line was designed for. A 13-year-old "scenester" who's preparing for a life of hanging out in nightclubs with drag queens and coked-up celebrities.

Please Target, just for once get one of your designer fusion lines to make stuff for actual women.

I agree with all of you &its very disappointing. Hoping Zac Posen is better and not cut for Tweens.
