This is the first time I have been mad at Christmas stuff out early, mainly because our Target, just put the Halloween skull melamine plates out this past Friday!! I have been there a couple time last week, and nothing was out!! They had all the stupid dorm room stuff out FOREVER! I went on Sunday, and it was so poorly stocked with the plates, I couldn't get any. THEN I see the Christmas cards on the back wall, and I almost lost it!!!!!!!!
I don't know if it is because our Target just went through the "Grocery" remodel, that now they are having troubles with stocking the place very well, and seem to concentrate now on only the food.
The John Derian stuff was was MIA, and I just saw the mugs on clearance. What gives I wonder???

I don't see what's wrong with this?
I just received our Christmas cards for this year from our photographer and am 90% done with Christmas shopping already.
It's nice to have the things done early that you can, I cannot stand the stress and crowds around the Holidays. I know this year a lot of my friends are due with babies in November so they need to be done with everything Christmas-related before then. I think having Christmas stock out already is actually helpful to people in certain circumstances.

FWIW, I was annoyed that the Halloween stock took SO LONG to arrive. I'd much rather have it available early than later.

Elizabeth, come to think of it, my Target did the same thing - took forever with the Halloween stuff, only just got rid of the BTS merchandise, and put the x-mas things out extra-early. And I also saw the John Derian mugs go directly to clearance. My assumption was that the store forgot to put them out, then realized it too late and dumped them on the sale endcap. Sad....

Holiday mishmash at our Target - is it Halloween? Thanksgiving? Christmas? Impossible to tell. it's a poor marketing strategy, They have given up several aisles that were used for Halloween costumes last year for Xmas stuff, so I bought a costume from another store online because Target didn't have much to offer. I won't buy anything Xmas until the day after Thanksgiving! I refuse!

Newk, I agree: it's a holiday mishmash! Shoppers, the Halloween stuff especially seems to be ALL over the store. You'll find Halloween themed stuff in other areas, like ghoulish dish towels in the kitchenware aisle and candy-corn socks in the hosiery aisle. What a mess!
