The most outrageous Missoni for Target eBay listing...

Are you sitting down, readers? Because I found this story online this morning that made me spit out my coffee.

Tammy Lyn, of Tulsa, Okla., is listing a pair of Missoni for Target rubber rain boots on eBay for $31,000. The proceeds, she claims, will cover her daughter's first year in college.

"We have lived frugally and have some savings, but like most Americans, it's just not enough to cover college, retirement, and life at this point," she explained. "Missoni mania looked like the perfect opportunity for a miracle."

The boots, a size 10, retailed for $34.99, but as we all know are out of stock in Target stores and on Target.com. Other current listings on eBay for the rain boots range from $60 to $100. Lyn says she bought the boots in a Target store near her home and is hoping to turn them into an instant college fund for her youngest daughter who is a freshman. The "Buy It Now" price - which includes free shipping - is roughly the equivalent of her daughter's college tuition for one year.

Let us know if someone buys them. I'll bet you could get several real Missoni items for that price.

This is one of the very few things I'm still seeing in the stores...don't think that's going to work out to well for her.

I would be embarrassed to post something that outlandish!!!
I was just at Nordstom's over the weekend, and saw some gorgeous real Missoni pieces, and yes for that price you could have an entire Missoni look. One of the cardigans was $850.00, and a dress came in at $2,000+.

Wow! There are three pairs of these boots left at my target as of this afternoon, if I bought all three then all of my kids can go to college for free and I can build a cabin in North Carolina.

Judy is right, get some real Missoni for this price.

This is ridiculous. If she thinks those boots will get her through, she is insane. Maybe princess should go to a state school or start off at a community college.

No. 1 = Just saw a pair of these exact boots in a 10 ( so same size) in CARSON, CA, people! I was actually visiting IKEA and dropped by Target to return some Paul Frank pajama pants. So girlfriend should know that a pair still exists in the Target universe.

No. 2 = since when did it become hip and creative to post something for sale at a silly price in order to make up for your lack of planning and saving? It's like those people that (some of them sucessfully, sadly enough) create web pages for people to donate and help them pay off debt.

Guess what? I don't think you're cheeky, creative, or clever when you do crap like that. You should be ashamed twice! And if you didn't save for your kid's education, then fill out a FAFSA form - or do as Dave Ramsey says and pick a cheaper school. Ugh!
