Target’s New Cart Design

At the brand-spankin’ new Target store I visited earlier this week, I got to check out Target’s new all-plastic carts. Target has taken their love and appreciation of design to a new level with these carts; they’re easy to handle and designed with fewer sharp edges than their metal predecesssors. And not only are they a work of retail art, they've even won a design award already: the International Plastics Design Competition.

I like the new handbaskets, too. Why has nobody thought of attaching the handle long-ways before? It's so much easier to handle!

I was just there today and I love the design except for one little thing- I think they should include cup holders. I had a coffee with me today and it tipped out and spilled everywhere. Oh well, other than that, yes the new carts are great!

Cup holders would be a good idea. They have them on the carts at Stop & Shop, However they closed most of their in-store Dunkin Doughnuts. My local Target stores in (Newington CT and Meriden CT) don't have a Starbucks in them but the one near my mom's house (North Haven CT) does. Also one of my favorite Targets, the one in Southington CT has a Starbucks, the new carts and the expanded pantry and frozen sections. The one in Lisbon with the small grocery section would be my favorite but its way to far.
