Express follows Target’s lead

Express has become the latest store to hook up with a designer - following the Target model – by introducing the Celia Birtwell collection of flowing blouses and boho dresses. Birtwell is an English textile artist who designed many of the groovy prints and patterns her onetime husband, Ossie Clark, used to dress shagadelic celebs from the '60s and '70s. Pictured here are some of her original sketches from 1969.

Birtwell’s line - made entirely of silk - includes six blouses and three dresses, and will be priced higher than much of the other offerings found at Express. For example, Birtwell dresses are $129, whereas the store's other dress options tend to be in the $70-$80 range.
