Proenza Schouler wins CFDA award

Earlier this week, Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough of the Proenza Schouler label won the coveted CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) award for "Womenswear Designer of the Year". Fans of this label may recall that they did a budget line for Target back in the Spring of 2007 (before I started writing this blog). I personally wasn't a huge fan of Proenza Schouler for Target (as shown here) but I do recall the line being well-received by critics and consumers alike.

Proenza Schouler was also part of the recent Go International dress retrospective... and if you fancy owning one, their signature "bustier dress" is still available online here on Target.com (at the bargain-basement clearance price of $15.74).

The bustier dress is cute. I have a real problem with skirts that look as if they could fall off at any moment.
