Facebook released a study yesterday aimed at proving advertising on the social-networking site pays off for businesses, The Wall Street Journal reports. The study, compiled by market-research firm comScore, found that people who are friends or fans of Minneapolis-based Target on Facebook shopped at the retailer 21 percent more often than those who were not. The research covered a four-week period and compared the retailers' fans to a control group. The study was part of Facebook's effort been to combat criticism that its ads don't work.
