Lilly for Target Returns Start To Trickle Into Stores...

Slowly but surely, returns from the Lilly Pulitzer for Target line have started to trickle into stores. I somehow lucked out yesterday and found the exact dress I wanted (the shift dress in Upstream Dream, shown here) in the size I needed! And I found it in the oddest place: wadded up with a bunch of other Lilly clothing on an endcap in the Cosmetics section of all places. It was in a larger size than I usually wear, but that ended up being OK as these dresses seem to run small.

So keep checking back in stores for customer returns. A friend told me a Target clerk mentioned to her that a woman bought $900 worth of Lilly merchandise the first day, then returned $300 of it the next day. Let's hope a lot of shoppers "went crazy" buying everything in sight, and now will have buyer's remorse. I think there will also be a lot of returns of clothing due to fit issues. As stated, the dresses run small, whereas the tunic tops seem to run huge (at least from the size 'Small' one I saw in store the other day).

I am going to hit up Target tonight after I pick the kids up since it's near their school. I hope I have the same luck!!

Yay! So glad you found what you wanted. (And I can completely envision things wadded up on an endcap at this point.) It's a very cute dress. And, yes, I'd say the sizes run small - not quite H&M tiny sizing but close.

Happy for you!

Thanks for the heads up! I am planning on hitting 5 Targets tomorrow and 2-3 more on Saturday so hope to find something. I have been to 6 Targets already and haven't found anything except two XXL jumpers.

I picked up the set of four tall drinking glasses yesterday. They were not at my local store on Sunday. They also had a hammock frame and umbrella holder, Giraffe bottle opener and ceramic stool.

I found the charm bracelet and a travel kit. Yeah! Still looking for the napkins.

I want the mugs and large white bowl. I returned the maxi dress yesterday because it was too large. They had a jumper on the rack and a couple of dresses I was not interested in. So I will keep checking the stores.

I found an endcap (where housewares clearance is usually located) stocked with barware, towels, votive holders and pillows today. Remorse if definitely setting in.

My online order came late yesterday, so that means returns should start showing up from those purchases that didn't work out. Curiously: on the online receipt, it clearly states next to each time that "return is required within 14 days". But as mentioned previously, Target neglected to state this on the store receipts.

I saw the same discrepancy btw. online and store purchases. I had a store employee for the first time independently mention the policy at checkout yesterday when I got a towel, and I told him about the receipt problem. He said, "Well, let's see what it says when it prints out." When he saw there was no indication of a 14-day return, his face kind of fell - like he knows a potential storm is coming. He thought the price on the towel was nutty too - but it's a gift for someone in FL; so I'm taking the hit. But the poor dude looked like he would rather just crack open some beers and sit the rest of this one out...

On another note - WHAT IS UP WITH THE NAPKINS? I just saw 12 go for over $200 on eBay. Um, I snagged 8 for $20 to go with my JC Penney Jonathan Adler ceramic bird napkin holders. They remind me of when I was little in the '70s and my mom put pom-poms on everything. But, seriously, people - they're napkins. The only impetus would be the exclusivity of the print Lilly Pulitzer did for Target.

So excited--had to take a relative to Detroit Metro airport so hit 4 Targets on the way home and I finally found a shift dress!! It is the pink one that I wanted. It was 2 sizes up but actually fits pretty good (I am 6 ft tall so need the extra length). I also found the Nosie Posie headband and the green beach towel. Saw lots of housewares too but didn't get any as I don't need any of it.

I am looking for the napkins to show up at a store but I don't have high hopes as they were only $10 for 4 so people will probably not want to bother returning.

Online orders are coming in...so far I've seen a bunch of plus sized returns, and a few housewares. I was able to snag the giraffe bottle opener (a bargain at just $10) and the bowl set ($30 for 4, but the bowls are small) but other than that, I haven't seen much.

I'm so glad you got the dress you wanted! The 5 Target stores near me in Dallas have only had swim and girls clothing returned. I'm still hoping to get the shift dresses in plus size 18 in Happy Dance and Nosie Posie. If you spot these let me know! :)

Ended up finding the hot pink shift dress and also the pineapple bowl yesterday. I don't really need the bowl (or the dress for the matter) but it was so cute and really nice quality.
