Target's "Amazing" script for employees...

According to TheDailyMail (and as Conan poked fun at on his show this evening) Target's new manual for their sales assistants requires them to make all their interactions with customers "amazing".  This new employee directive ensures a "service vibe" to make customers feel as comfortable as possible.  The official script to becoming an ideal Target employee was leaked online, packed with corporate buzzwords (like "amazing") and cring-worthy customer service tips. The training manual - actually titled "Welcome to Amazing" - provides workers with a script to follow that ensures customer service is top-notch.

Wonder if this has anything to do with their plan to make this holiday season more about expecting more rather than paying less? Usually I'd rather just know an employee knows their stuff and is available if I need help than to be attacked by a script.

I would settle for the employees not standing around talking to each other... retail no no!

The employees in Southern California seem to be rejects from TSA.
