Nate Berkus for Target debuts online and in stores...

Today was a rare Sunday where I didn't venture to Target. Today was also the debut of the Nate Berkus for Target collection, so I can only judge by what's posted on Target.com.  While I generally like what I see, I'm struck by two things.  First off, there's only about 100 items in the collection. I was expecting more, so I am assuming that this is just the start of Target's collaboration with Nate and that each season will bring new offerings.

Secondly, I noticed that most of the really cool (and unique) home decor items are available for purchase only in stores. Which means if I really want it, I'll have to hope my local store has it in stock. A quick check on eBay shows only a couple of Nate Berkus for Target items, and hopefully they won't start showing up there with jacked-up prices.

I went to my closest Target at 8am Sunday morning. There was NO Nate Berkus on the floor. I asked about it at customer service and was told that the line would be coming in slowly. I went home and checked .com and the tray I wanted was listed as available. I called the store and was told the line was being set up so I rushed back but the cream colored tray had already been sold(4 trays per box 2 brown 1 green 1 cream)VERY disappointed.

I saw an article in Parade about Nate and his new line, his mom brought a turtle shell home when he was a little and he does a laquered shell as a nod to her. Kinda cute, I'm eager to see it, I love his style it's clean and straightforward.

aBeautyFairy: I didn't get to Target until Monday afternoon, and my local store was just then unpacking & putting out the Nate stuff!

I did like what I saw in person, although some of the "art objects" (like the rams horns and link chain) are smaller than I had expected. And I have to say that overall the line isn't any better (in quality or price) than the latest offerings from Target's Threshold line.
