Further Markdowns: Select Marimekko on Target.com

A month ago I alerted you that select Marimekko items had been marked down on Target.com. Today it looks like fewer items are available for order online, but those that are seem to be marked down dramatically. Like this Harka throw blanket (shown) marked down 70% at just $8.98 (regularly $29.99). There's also a cute kid's gardening set for just $5.98 and a bocce ball set for only $29.99 (regularly $99!). It looks like most of the girls clothing is now marked down to 50-70% off as well.

I'm a little sad, the housewares I had my eye on in store have disappeared. IE table runners, dish sets. But also they are not discounted on-line. Has Target done this before? Pulled the "good" items from the store before they were marked down. The only time like this that I can remember is with Neiman Marcus and a few of the designers who didn't want their names marked down.

^ um, that never happened with the NM collaboration; please stop making up stories to fit your narrative.

From what I can tell, none of the housewares are available to order anymore on Target.com. They show up there at "full price", but they tell you they are now available "in stores online". You'll see an "add to cart" button in red, but under that it'll say "shipping not available" - which is really misleading IMO. I think the housewares all sold out really fast from stores, and unless you happen to find a customer return, you're out of luck.

I can attest to the housewares - particularly table linens - having sold out quickly. Several items were only available in store as well and were never sold online. I think the plates and other melamine tableware were around for a bit, but I haven't seen any of that selection for several weeks. I only ever saw one table runner "in the flesh," and it wasn't in the color scheme I was looking for.

Music: I keep seeing 'random' houseware items show up at my local store. They must be customer returns, which is a bit puzzling given the 15-day return window (unless people keep "returning" other people's returns...). Last week I saw one pack of cloth napkins and two melamine trays.
