The Cult of Domo

As I blogged about a couple of weeks ago, Target has designed its entire Halloween promotion this year around the lovable Japanese character Domo. Well apparantly, this little guy has quite a cult following back in his native country. Here's a fun article detaling Domo's rise from underground Japanese character to bigtime corporate mascot for American retailer Target.

The kids at school absolutely adore Domo. In fact, there will be a winning picture of "him" in our school newspaper next week, drawn by a 6th grader. Kids voted on the picture amongst 5 others. I was amazed at how many knew who "he" was. Guess their moms are obsessed with Target too.

I wrote a humorous post on my blog today, and think you may get a kick out of it too. It is a "shout out" to your blog in a way. Figured you wouldn't mind.

I've had Domos since the late 1990s when I discovered them in Japan and made someone bring me back a ton of stuff! I love that he's hit stateside.
