Target's new site has a LOT of kinks to work out...


As reported last week, Target has launched their new web site. Unfortunately, the Bullseye has a LOT of kinks to work out on the newly revamped Target.com.

Several of you have written in to report broken links or bad search results. Even worse are reports that your online gift registries (for baby and wedding) didn't "transfer" in the migration from Amazon.com, and now your entire lists are lost!

I myself have found the customer service online form to be broken; you fill in all the fields, yet it tells you haven't, so you can't hit "submit". I also had an issue with their "free shipping on orders over $50" offer, when I had 4 items clearly marked with this offer, yet when I tried to checkout, the discount wasn't given. Needless to say backed out of my cart, and Target lost that sale.

I've also noticed TONS of items that are marked "out of stock" under search results. This has always been a pet peeve of mine with Target, and it seems that they haven't taken the opportunity to improve it with their new site. I mean really: if something is out of stock, why still list it?? I also noticed (as shown here) that you can no longer search under the category of "new", which is a shame. If you're a fan of a particular Target brand or product, it was always helpful to be able to sort by "new" to see the newest merchandise first.

I can't get over the tiny pictures! I love Target but I don't want to bring out a magnifying glass or click on each individual item to see what's available! I'm afraid they're going to lose me as an online shopper if they don't get this fixed.

Lisa, I agree. Tiny pictures of the products AND teensy "dots" for the various color choices. Poorly designed indeed!

Yuk! Hate it. Very busy look. Too many ads to tempt you to go elsewhere on the site, small print & very slow!

I agree that the new site is terrible. They need to fire the designer of the site. I love Target, but the online organization is just terrible...PERIOD! They continue to send me the wrong items, cancel orders for no reason, etc. The new site is so busy and the search is terrible. They really need to get things working correctly.

Hate the new site! Lisa is SO right about the tiny pictures and I'm so annoyed to have lost my lists and saved cart!

I haven't tried, but apparently you can't access old orders either to print a store receipt.

Hate that my name is in big letters on the opening page when logged in and that it insists on automatically logging me out with one of those pop-up boxes.

Yeah, they really need to get it together. I had an order cancelled (pre-changeover) that showed in-stock when I placed the order. It took Target three weeks and three overseas phone calls by me to someone who couldn't/wouldn't give any info to cancel it.

After writing this, I'm wondering why I bother ordering at all with them...

it would not let me leave reviews...no matter how short they were, it told me they were over 1000 characters! annoying!
