Rushing the Seasons: Extreme Version

I've ranted before about Target rushing the seasons (dating back to this post from 2010) but this takes it to the extreme. Shown here is a rack of turtleneck (turtleneck!!!) sweaters at one of my local Target stores taken 3 days ago. So it's mid-May - not even officially Summer on the calendar yet - and they're already putting out Fall sweaters. Unbelievable...

What's the point of this? I've tried to buy new gloves during the winter, only to be told they don't sell anymore for season. Also tried to buy a new swimsuit during summer, but there are only a few unmatching pieces leftover from when they started selling in January. It's annoying.

Maybe the retailers will keep moving the seasons up until, well, they release clothes during the season they were meant for.

That makes no sense. Maybe it's leftover merch they're trying to move since some climates are still seeing snow...?

Critifur, you're hilarious!

All I can say is that if you want a swimsuit or summer clothes, buy them NOW before Target sells out.

Wow! I think stuff like that usually makes its way out on to the floor in July, not May sheesh!!
