Couple wipes out Wu from Target store

Talk about a new low! The NY Daily News reports that a Miami couple enraged fellow shoppers when they bought out a Miami Target store of its entire supply of Jason Wu clothing and accessories on Sunday.

Customers who arrived at the store on the day the sale began in order to get their hands on the hotly anticipated Jason Wu for Target collection could only watch as the entire stock was depleted in one fell swoop. One shopper, who captured the entire event on her camera and posted it to YouTube (click here to watch) said that the couple planned to resell the items on eBay.

Target would easily be able to prevent situations like this from happening if they would implement limits on items. While there was nothing from this collection that I wanted, I feel badly for the people who missed out thanks to jerks like these two! Boycott eBay resales, people!

Agree with the above comment. If Target limited the purchase of two of the same item per person for their limited release collections, it would stop situations like this - or at least force the eBayers to bring a lot of friends or travel to multiple Target stores. It's not like they have to be afraid of the stock just sitting there on the shelf.

I hope no one buys any of the items they list on ebay. That is just so very wrong and just plain rude.

In the Target by me THERE WAS A LIMIT. Why was this not a store-wide policy??

Sleuthy, I heard that there were limits in other stores as well. But unfortunately, this was not a company-wide policy. I also think that stores that had limits in place didn't strictly enforce them.

Hello, i live in NY and the Target here imposed only 2 of the same outfits per customer and were implementing it. It's only fair i think.

I saw this on a blog by someone who was there, and she said that the store managers wanted to stop the act and not let them buy the WHOLE collection, but after a call to national offices, nationals refused to let the store stop them. So really it wasn't the store's fault, but national's- its a shame the regional Target is getting so much heat for something that was out of their hands.

Clewis, I agree with you 100%. And if anyone else wants to read the eyewitness account of this event, here's the link:
