Target to slash toy prices in half for the holidays

Target announced yesterday that it will lower prices on toys by as much as 50%, in advance of the holidays. This includes such popular offerings such as Barbie, G. I. Joe, and Fisher Price toys.

The news follows Walmart's announcement last week that it will offer 100 toys for $10 during the holiday season. Last year, the company only offered 10 toys at this price range.

Meanwhile, privately held Toys 'R' Us is also gearing up for the holidays by hiring more than 30,000 seasonal workers and opening temporary pop-up stores nationwide.
