Departure of rare collection hits a sad note…

A couple of weeks ago I blogged about Target’s CEO, Robert Ulrich, founding a musical instrument museum in Arizona. Come to find out, a good portion of the new museum’s collection was purchased from the current inventory at the Claremont Colleges’ in Southern California. The Fiske Museum at Claremont is sad to see the collection go, as am I; my nephew, Vincent, will be attending one of the Claremont schools (Pitzer) this Fall, and it would have been neat for him to get to see these rare exhibits in person. On the bright side, though, it’s great that the collection will have a permanent place to call home.
