Not all Targets are created equal

Judging from the numerous reader comments I've received - plus having now viewed the Liberty of London line at 3 different Target stores - I can safely say that not all stores carry the same merchandise. I visited the Target store near my work during lunchtime, and the only "different" things this store had (which I hadn't seen before) were a darling 3-pack of headbands and floral flip-flops (both in the girls' department). This particular store had NOTHING in the mens department, not even the printed boxers. Likewise, they had no stationery, home decor, or housewares, and only a scant few throw pillows and bedding sets.

I almost walked out without anything... but then saw this one-shoulder maxi dress (shown) and decided to give it a whirl. I'll try it on for size tonight at home, and if it fits and I like it on, my plan is to shorten it to just above the knee (since the maxi-style isn't really my thing).

I noticed that too. One store I went to didn't have men's at all, but everything else. I also noticed the selection of prints varied by stores, too. Some had more than others. Thank goodness I seriously have 6 stores within a 20 mile radius :)

I have my own rant...

I went to two different Targets to find the LOL menswear. The first on Lake Worth Road had nothing in men's, as well very little else in the store except women's wear. I had no idea it was mostly polyester. I was thinking of getting something for my mother for Easter, but not in poly.

The second store on Palm Beach Lakes Blvd. store seems to have almost everything, except for dining and lawn & garden. They did have LOL for men. Yea! Including a really fine shirt in the navy print in small.

Now the rant. I went to the dressing room to try on the shirt and was told I was not allowed to try it on. I will not bore you with the details, but I did try it on, on the floor, and bought it, though after what I went through, I almost want to just take it back. The whole thing was insane.

I haven't even made it to view the collection yet - so bummed. I think by the time I get there it will be picked over but still looking forward to it!

LOVE the maxi dress and your idea to shorten it is great (I'm not a max length girl either ...)

I have the same dress!! This dress is really pretty :)

Checked out another Target today. When I arrived, they were just about switching the wall sign to LOL in accessory department. He said it was very busy on Sunday, and it's behind schedule. I wanted to check out handbags and scarfs, and he was kind enough to take all the boxes out from the storage. He opened everything for me, and I got to pick everything I wanted. 2 bags(great!), an umbrella(pretty!), & 3 scarfs(for mom too!). Tried a hat, but it was kind of small for me.
Kitchen section was the same thing. Nothing was out. So I asked a lady to find me the teapot. She looked up the computer, went to the storage, and voila, she had the teapot in her hands! Awesome! The teapot is really really pretty. I was very happy with their help, and she even asked me if there's something more I need.
Also got men's ties, another small picture frame, and 2 candles also. These were already out, displayed nicely.

I'm planning to visit another Target tomorrow. I would like to get some mugs, maybe a canister, flip flops, and headband. I am even tempted to get a bicycle! This collection is so amazing that I want to have everything!

Critifur, that's crazy! Why wouldn't they let you try it on? Because it's packaged flat, vs. hanging on a hanger? Good for you for trying it on anyhow!

I found pedal pushers/capris/crop pants in the girls department (7-14), and I didn't see those ANYWHERE. But they WERE tagged LoL.

I wish that someone would figure out that not everyone WANTS the bed in the bag. I have a great, but plain, bedspread, and was counting on LoL to dress up a room. Not only were there no bed in bag sets (only king sizes available locally) but there were no throws, or much in the way of soft furnishings.

I found that is not always that they don't have it, it's that they have not gotten it out on the floor yet. When the Orla Kiely stuff came out, I went this one Target that only had one sparse display. I grabbed a competent looking employee and asked him to check for some items I wanted. They had ALL of them, in the back!

I just went today for the LOL stuff and found a few items... including some bowls and pillows. I will check another tomorrow too...I really want the flip flops!
