Now at Target: Magnolia Table Cookbook

As if the Fixer Upper empire isn't big enough, Target just launched a new cookbook by Joanna Gaines called “Magnolia Table”. The retailer is offering an exclusive Hearth & Hand with Magnolia edition of the book that you’ll only find at Target.

This special edition includes seven exclusive recipes, featuring delicious dishes like bacon and cheddar quiche and an open-faced grilled cheese with arugula and balsamic reduction drizzle, as well as bonus photographs and a handwritten note from Joanna.

From breakfast, lunch and dinner to small plates, snacks and desserts, there are over 100 recipes highlighting American classics and Gaines’ family favorites, as well as selections from the couple's newly opened restaurant, Magnolia Table. For a Q&A with Joanna about her inspiration for the book, check out this post on A Bullseye View.

Fab Find: $5 Beach Hats

In the Dollar Aisle at Target the other day I found these cute straw beach hats embroidered with fun messages. The one shown here had "beachy" printed on it, and I also saw one with "do not disturb" in black lettering. At just $5 each, you could get both to last you through the Summer!

Target stops production of tall Hunter boots...

Yesterday, Target announced on their corporate blog that they had halted production of the womens' tall Hunter rain boots - the ones that had been delayed and were eagerly awaited by customers. According to their statement, "We had been made aware of some production issues with the boot we created for this limited-edition collection, and wanted to take the time necessary to ensure we were offering our guests a great product at an exceptional value." And they continued "After thorough evaluation, we’ve decided not to make this item available. We’re very sorry, but the production simply didn’t meet our standards, Hunter’s standards, or the standards we want guests to have when they shop at Target."

Lest anyone fret that these sub-standard boots will end up in a landfill, Target promises they are working with a third-party to recycle them.  And according to The Recessionista, folks who did happen to find the Hunter boots on launch day in stores were unable to purchase them as the were recalled at the cash register. However, at least SOME of the tall boots must have reached shoppers hands, as a quick check of eBay shows about 40 pairs for sale (although some are actually mens and toddler sizes).

Target adds 8 new Beauty brands...

As if Target’s beauty department wasn't crowded enough (did you know they offer over 1,000 different beauty brands??) they are now adding 8 more specifically designed for medium to dark skin tones. Starting today on Target.com (and May 20 in select stores) Target is introducing these cosmetic brands to their growing beauty assortment:

Coloured Raine, offering bold, colorful, cruelty-free cosmetics for women of various skin tones.

EveryHue, offering tinted moisturizers in 12 wearable shades, with an emphasis on warmer hues, and an array of makeup tools to help achieve a perfect application.

HALEYS Beauty, with products are that are vegan and made without sulfates, phthalates, parabens and fragrance.

HUE NOIR, which blends color, science and technology to offer a wide array of luxury, skin-nurturing cosmetics for women of color.

The Lip Bar, which offers vegan lip products in an inclusive array of shades for women of every skin tone, all at an affordable price point.

Makeup Geek,
which offers everything from colorful eyeshadows to lipsticks, bronzers and more.

Reina Rebelde
, a makeup line filled with bold colors for eyes, lips and face, gorgeous packaging and high-quality products.

Violet Voss, created by a team of makeup artists and born out of a mission to make long-lasting lip products, cruelty-free lashes and other highly pigmented makeup products.

PS: I just realized that Gizelle Bryant from Real Housewives of Potomac is one of the 4 women behind the EveryHue brand.

Now at Target: Hunter for Target

The Hunter for Target collection is finally here, both in stores and online. I will probably pass on this collab, as after perusing the offerings, there just isn't anything I'm thrilled about. The only thing I was remotely interested in buying were the tall rain boots (shown here on the far left) which Target notes on their site aren't available yet. The statement reads: "For guests eyeing the women’s tall rain boots, unfortunately they are delayed and won’t be available in stores or online when the collection launches. We apologize for any disappointment and we’ll share more information when we can." Which is just as well, since my Joules rainboots from Target a few seasons ago are still holding up well.

What about you, readers? Is there anything you have your eye on with Hunter, and if so, which item(s)?

Now at Target: Project 62 + Nate Berkus

As I mentioned back in February, Nate Berkus will live on at Target via an association with their in-house brand Project 62. Focused on bedding and bath, The Project 62 + Nate Berkus collection is now available in Target stores and Target.com, at prices ranging from $6.99 to $99.

“Target has been working with designer Nate Berkus since 2012 on a variety of collections, including everything from home décor to office supplies and more,” said Jill Sando, SVP of Merchandising at Target, on A Bullseye View. “Now that we’ve launched Project 62 with its approachable modern aesthetic, we felt that adding Nate’s signature design touch to the bed and bath assortment was the perfect complement.”

I personally am thrilled to see that this collab will include some throw pillows, like this Citron Perforated Leather Lumbar Pillow, as his pillows have always been some of my favorite items.

New at Target: Bliss

Target has yet another new offering in the Health & Beauty Department. Now they've partnered with Bliss to re-launch the beloved spa brand. The original Bliss debuted in 1996, and although social media wasn't around then, I was very familiar with the brand via direct mail and online advertising. The coveted 'it' line was known for their bright-blue packaging and fun formulations, bringing spa style to the masses.

With Target's re-launch, Bliss gets even better. All the formulas in Bliss 2.0 are entirely cruelty-free and made without parabens and phthalates. And the full 36-product line is available at target.com and blissworld.com, where everything will probably look drastically cheaper than you remember from 20 years ago — with every item in the new line under $25!

Now at Target: Opalhouse

As I mentioned last week, the Opalhouse lookbook is out, and merchandise was supposed to hit stores on April 8th. However, as of Tuesday (when I snapped this pic) one of my local Target stores already had all of the Opalhouse displays up and fully stocked. From the goods I inspected, this line seems well made and reasonably priced. If you've been looking for home decor that's more 'unique' and less cookie-cutter than Target's other lines, this is for you. That said, Target seems to be putting a lot of focus on Opalhouse... which means less room on the shelves for Project62 and Threshold merchandise.

Happy Easter & Welcome Spring!

Happy Easter, readers! And a hearty welcome to Spring finally getting here with some overdue warmer temperatures. As a reminder, all Target stores nationwide are closed today in honor of the Easter holiday. In the meantime, check out these goodies I found in the Dollar Aisle the other day: a variety of garden supplies, such as garden gloves, copper garden stakes, and planting spacing rulers. I also saw cute ceramic hanging planters in pretty pastel shades - all just $3-5.
