At not one - or two - but at
three of my local
Target stores I've noticed that all of the food items in the
Giada De Laurentis line have been put on the clearance racks. Personally, I wasn't a fan of Giada's
sauces and pasta, with the exception of her
Orzo. However, this has me wondering whether they've decided to phase out her food line to instead just concentrate on her bakeware/cookware, appliances and cutlery (which are still
prominently featured on Target.com and seem to still be selling well in-store).
I went to Target a couple days ago and Giada was still on the shelves in her "section". Next time I'll check to see if they put her in clearance.
ReplyDeleteI don't think we are phasing out Giada's food. Sometimes, companies will have a new package design, new flavors, or a bigger sized product and will require retailers to clearance out the old product. It's almost like the 'last years model' of cars or tv's.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Target will clearance items to make room for new merchandise or new shelving arrangements. When we change the planogram (the shelve/department alignment) we clearance the items. It's easier to move stuff without masses of product on the shelves.
Looks like they have moved all the Giada food to the pasta section of my local Target. Nice place to find it when doing my grocery shopping.
ReplyDeleteI was at Target last week and didn't seem to notice any clearance.
ReplyDeleteOn a whim, I tried her creamy tomato sauce and it was absolutely wonderful! One of the best jarred sauces I've tasted, next to Victoria's vodka sauce!
I'm addicted to the creamy tomato sauce. It turns any dish into gourmet. I especially love using it for the sauce on Giada's infamous Italian egg sandwich recipe.
