The folks at Racked.com report that WWD just announced that Target has recruited clothing and accessories brand Hayden-Harnett to do a line (assumingly handbags) for the mass retailer for Spring 2009 (although the news has yet to be confirmed by either Target or Hayden-Harnett). Now, ah, um, I had never heard of the brand before, so I looked up their site and they have some pretty nifty offerings. If they do produce a budget line for Target, I hope they create some interesting things (like the studded pattern on the cute clutch pictured at left) and not the run-of-the-mill metallic or black PVC hobo shaped bag (which has already been done to DEATH by more recent Target celebrity handbag designers).
